About Hound Harmony

At Hound Harmony, I aim to build a better relationship between you and your dog. Whether this is your first dog or you’re an experienced handler, I want to support you on your training journey. I have worked with a wide range of dogs through my career, covering everything from basic obedience to reactivity and fear-based aggression. I found my passion in transforming high-energy, anxious, or easily distracted dogs into calm, well-behaved, and confident companions you’ll be proud to take anywhere.

My dog training journey started in Texas when I adopted my “lab mix,” Hunter, from the shelter. As it turns out, Hunter is primarily an American Pitbull Terrier and Australian Cattle Dog; approximately 10% of his DNA is Labrador. I was in over my head, to say the least. Hunter is a sweet, sensitive guy with lots of big feelings. He made me question everything I thought I knew about dog ownership. I spent the next 2 years learning as much as possible about dogs, their well-being, behavior, and breed-specific needs.

After adopting Hunter, life moved us out to Columbus, Ohio. This is where I adopted Roscoe and Celeste, my two spunky beagles, and joined up with Alex Eaton, the owner of Out of This World Dog Training. Alex is an incredible mentor enabled me to grow as a professional dog trainer. We worked together for aproximately 4.5 years before I made my way to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to family.

  • Iric and Ruby

Sarah is a great trainer. I strongly recommend hiring her services. I literally watched her teach my puppy, Ruby, a new trick in 1 minute. That is faster than fast food. I felt like Tom Hanks in Castaway. I watched Sarah create fire. David Blaine or Sarah? You decide who performs real magic. Woof! I have had many dogs throughout my life, but this is the first time I have used the services of a dog trainer and I couldn't be happier. Sarah taught me so much, she should bring me treats as well. I love Buffalo chicken wings if anyone is interested.

  • Sarah and Bexley

We brought home a puppy-mill mom about 1 month ago and hired a trainer to help us connect with her better. We have had only 2 sessions with Sarah so far and the improvements have been incredible. Our dog is more confident, more loving, all around just a happier dog. Sarah also brought one of her dogs over to model some of the good behaviors and you could see our dog just soaking it all in. We have one more session scheduled but probably going to do more in the coming months. Very impressed.

  • Emily and Bodhi

We recently completed our 3rd session with Sarah and couldn't be happier with how much our 14 week old puppy- Bodhi- is catching on to obedience commands and learning to walk on a leash. Sarah is very patient and took as much time as needed to answer all our questions. Honestly, these sessions were as beneficial for us as for the puppy, as it helped us to build confidence in working with Bodhi and navigating the first few weeks of being new puppy owners!

  • Amanda

We had such a wonderful experience with Sarah. She is attentive and very knowledgeable. After the first session my pup was able to sit in front of the wide open door without running out (she is usually an escape artist).

  • Aaron & Finn

Our dog Finn was shy and uncomfortable around other dogs. Sarah, our trainer, recommended a board and train. After having Finn for only 1 week he is able to neutral around other dogs and won’t bark at them.

  • Brittany, Stan & Waffles

Sarah is absolutely amazing. From the moment she stepped into my house and met my two pups, Stan and Waffles. I knew she was the perfect fit not only for them, but for me. She helped me train them during peak COVID times, when socialization was difficult. She came up with great ways to get them around people (safely) and work on their leash training all at the same time. The amount that my pups and I learned from her has been so important to their development from such a young age. She was available to help answer any questions I had, and always had suggestions and knowledge to share. One of the things I really appreciated is that while training, she also allowed me to get involved and learn so that my pups and I could work together when she wasn’t there and bond while training.
